In this case study about Prince Sports, Inc. I will be talking about what environmental forces that work for and against Princes Sports in the tennis industry and how they can market their products to all age groups. Also, I will examine how they can reach different levels of players including recreational players,j uniors, and professionals players. In this paper, I will discuss their target markets and how they will promote their product to achieve higher growth in sales on a global market.
In the twenty-first century, there are some trends in the environmental forces that work for and against Prince Sport’s success in the tennis industry. One factor that works for Prince Sports in a social aspect is the growing interest in tennis across the globe. A survey conducted in 2008 stated, “Tennis is the fastest growing sport in America among individual traditional sports with an increase in participation of 43% from 2000 to 2008,”(Anonymous, 2008). The growth has increased globally due to the fact that more individuals have entered into professional competitions. A social factor that can hurt Prince Sports is a decrease in popularity. If this happens, it will become more difficult for them to reach sales goals. Therefore, they will have to adjust their sales and marketing schemes to keep the interest of their intended audience. An economic factor that can work for Prince Sports is if it stays on a slow rising trend then they will experience steady growth for a sustainable amount of time. That being said, if consumers have money to spend and are not feeling the effects of a down economy, then they are more likely to purchase products like these. However, if the opposite occurs, Prince will have to reevaluate their marketing schemes and possibly their products as well. The company would have to figure out a way to lower their prices to keep consumers purchasing their products.
