* Company Background

TGV Cinemas Sdn Bhd ( TGV ) which formerly known as Tanjong Golden Village Sdn Bhd was a joint venture between Tanjong Public Limited Company of Malaysia, Village Roadshow Limited of Australia, and Golden Harvest of Hong Kong, with the former having a 50 per cent equity and the latter two holding a 25 per cent equity respectively. After an ownership reshuffle and the reduction of Village Roadshow's involvement, a new logo and name was introduced in 2006, TGV Cinemas Sdn Bhd (TGV). TGV Cinemas Sdn Bhd (TGV) owns and operates the second largest multiplex circuit in the country with 15 locations. It is also the second largest cinema chain in Malaysia.

TGV Cinemas Sdn Bhd (TGV Cinemas) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tanjong Public Limited Company. Since its inception in 1995, TGV Cinemas has grown to become one of Malaysia’s premier film exhibition companies and has established a name for itself as a pioneer in the cinema industry.

TGV Cinemas revolutionised the movie-going experience by being the first to introduce the multiplex concept, offering Malaysians a wide array of movies within one location. Today, TGV Cinemas is the owner and operator of 16 premier multiplexes located at major shopping centres in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Seremban, Ipoh, Penang, Johor Bahru and Terengganu, with a total of over 120 screens and 24,000 seats. . TGV has four managers working in each division and it is estimate that it is about 300 staffs working in the company.

The biggest TGV cinema is located in Sunway Pyramid, with 12 screens and 2598 seats. It had been undergoing renovations, and now has an additional 2 screens, up from the previous amount of 10 screens. The second largest TGV cinema is TGV Suria KLCC with 12 screens and 2459 seats.
