Examine traditional, contemporary, and emerging leadership theories and interpersonal forms of power. Create a profile of the ideal leader for the company you researched in which you describe the most appropriate leadership characteristics in terms of leadership style and interpersonal forms of power; and how these characteristics impact organizational performance.

Before being a leader, success is all about growing yourself and when you become a leader success is all about growing others. In creating a profile of an ideal leader should include high expectations and responsibilities to keep a company or agency flowing. Leadership is the ability to take initiative in planning, organizing, and managing a group of activities, projects and functions. In organized activities, leaders can be designated from being emerged naturally. Leaders continuously seek to improve organizational performance and enhance work group effectiveness to drive competitiveness and curtail the cost of employee turnover. The diversity of many work groups creates potential benefits and challenges for their leaders. If a leader is weak and unsure of his or her job responsibility it may cause an impact on group effectiveness and turnover intention. Proper facilitation of teambuilding activities is necessary to ensure that the outcomes are beneficial and not harmful to the group or individuals within a group. Team building is the process of deliberately creating an effective team by focusing on those factors that support team performance. Common team building activities focus on clarifying roles and goals; building trust, accountability and commitment; improving or designing processes; supporting the use of healthy team norms to encourage effective communication and conflict resolution; and focusing on leadership behaviors (Nelson/Quick, 2010).
