I: Determining most optimal managerial strategy for Superado

Factors that assist in determining the most optimal managerial strategy for the Superado Company are presented in the business model and design of the variables that make up the company.

Company Size and Environment: Superado is one of the largest grocery retailers in Spain. Its operations span across the country with more than 1,000 locations. For the past 15 years, the company has experience stable increase in sales and profits. Employees generally experience stability in their jobs with Superado offering salaries above market level, generous employee benefits and stable work shifts. hence, it has quite a fairly stable environment.

Corporate Strategy: Superado’s success is attributable to its unique approach in marketing. Unlike its competitors that resort to varied pricing and promotional offers year round, Superado opt to provide customers consistency and stable low prices. The former President and founder of the company believed that customers prefer predictability and consistency and such approach as evident in the company’s growth throughout the years have proven it be effective. Superado’s pricing model is rather indicative of an analyzer strategy in that it combines both prospector and defender strategy. Superado’s approach focuses on exploiting opportunities to excel at an early stage such as displayed by Luisa’s father’s approach while at the same time, maintain a base of traditional products and or services. This is also displayed when Superado changes its approach in selling produce. The prices were kept the same while the process of marketing the produce differed in that it can be purchased by piece.
