INTRODUCTION
The educational condition in the province of Surigao del Norte is growing particularly in the City of Surigao where you can find famous and established schools that caters quality education to the students. Surigao Education Center (SEC) is one of it. The steady increase of student population in SEC resulted to an increase demand for student housing. Indeed, the proponents believe that dormitories will become a primary need of the community.
Currently, the community within the periphery of the Surigao Education Center is providing this need. Private homeowners who offer their extra rooms for rent provide the majority of the student housing. Others are apartment owners. Private individuals who own lots have either converted their lots into two or three storey buildings that offer single, double or bed space amenities. Other houses offer rooms available for bed spaces. These rooms accommodate from 4 to 8 persons. It is usually cramped and the rent is low but there is no safety and security. Usually there are no vacant bed spaces or rooms available within the periphery of the school due to its strong demand.
In addition, most college students face the problems of always being late in school because of several factors like traffic, distance of their home, floods, inaccessibility of transportation etc. plus, the uncontrolled increase of transportation fare and the fact of the increased crime rate committed against women and even men. That’s why we choose to create this kind of business, a dormitory. According to a website "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/dormitory", a dormitory is often shortened to dorm, and some called it a residential hall or hall of residence. It consists of rooms with beds primarily providing sleeping and residential functions for large number of people, often boarding school, college, and university students.
