In regards to business, media convergence is the interlinking of various forms of media to perform the same purpose. It makes advertising easier, which helps to grow companies and brands. This in turn creates employment opportunities. Also years ago to apply for a job we had to actually go into the office, fill out a paper application, and have a face to face interview for consideration. With modern technology and the way things have changed all that can be done online. We can now view want ads online, apply for jobs as well as have phone interviews. With the way things are set up we can land a job without even leaving the house. As far as media convergence in regards to business… Billboards used to be a great way to promote business but now with social media and online websites, billboards really are not as effective. Another thing is with smart phones some people download certain games and apps. If you are one of those people you will have noticed that although the game and or app may have been free there is always ads that has to be viewed first. Same as with social media such as Facebook and Twitter, there is always ad and different advertisements. I stream CBS when I am away from home, or irf I missed one of my favorite TV shows. When I do there is always ads that cut into the programming. Like I mentioned earlier about a billboard, they can be overlooked. A newspaper ad can also be overlooked as well as magazine. You can’t miss it when it’s popping up on your phone especially if you are in the middle of something. So certainly the media has helped businesses in a major way.
