Club IT

Club IT is a night club owned by Lisa Tejada and Ruben Keys. Their mission for Club IT is to offer live music, DJ’s, dance space, and refreshments that suit any lifestyle. Club IT offers about 6,000 square feet of space with a 600 square foot dance floor, seating for 220, a kitchen for appetizers and short orders, and a bar. After completing extensive remodeling of the interior of Club IT, Lisa and Ruben decided that now they would focus on the information management systems aspect of their business. Some problems were identified that must be addressed immediately in order to successfully move their business in the right direction (Rainer, & Turban, 2008).

The first business problem that Club IT must address is making the club’s website more interactive. At the moment, the Club IT website is not user friendly. Simply from browsing the website, one would be unimpressed with the nightclub’s website layout. The style of the website seems lacking and outdated. The website should allow a customer or employee to interact with the website. In an interview with the business owner, he stated that he would like to create an interactive ticket booth which would allow customers to buy tickets online. Club IT’s customers use online shopping on a regular basis. By developing an online ticket booth, it could increase sales and business by being available to customers at any hour during the day or night.

The second business problem is that the website needs to be accessible by any mobile device. Developing a mobile accessible website would increase clientele and cater to a new crowd of customers. In an interview with the business owner, it was stated that many of Club IT’s customers use their mobile devices regularly; e.g. blackberrys, PDAs, camera phones, etc.
