SCI 228 Nutrition Week Three iLAB
Thomas Leonard
Devry University
Fast Food Challenge
I choose to use Subway as the fast food restaurant to use in the lab. When I am traveling and working in Japan which is about one to two weeks every month. There is a Subway Sandwich Shop on the base and its nearest place to grab a quick lunch and I was interested in what the nutritional value is on some of the things I have eaten there. My approach on this lab was the best meal that I would actually eat and a meal I would order.
Healthiest order would be a ; Sandwich - 6 inch Veggie Delite on 9-grain wheat with pepper jack cheese, spinach, tomato, cucumber, red onion, bell peppers, black olives, slices, avocado, vinegar, deli mustard. Side dish - baked Lays chips one bag, dessert - apple crisp pieces, drink – unsweetened ice tea 21 oz.

When looking at the results for the menu items I have chosen the first thing that stands out to me is the amount of Fat that is present in this meal at 14 grams this well below the recommended fat intake of 70 Grams total for the average adult. These totals for a full meal would be appreciated on any type of diet. If you were trying to lose what the 550 calorie total are right in line with...
