Part I: Worldview defined!

Worldview can be defined in many different ways. However, worldview can be seen as how a person views their faith, and life as well as their morals, values, death, and work. I believe it to be how we see and interpret the “big picture”. Basically it is what we are taught and how we believe.

Part II: What is believed?

Origin- We as Christians believe that we are all created in the image of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the one and only King and sovereign God (Genesis 1:27). It is believed by the Christian perspective of worldview that our Lord God created the world and everything with-in it. This was done in a six day period. Within this six day period God created one man and one woman which brought forth the population in its entirety (Genesis 1:28).

Identity- In the Christian worldview it is accepted that Gods creation of mankind in its own way is a unique and intentional creation by our God. We as Christians believe that when we “mankind” was created we were created in the image of our Lord (Genesis 1:27). With this creation mankind was given authority over all (Genesis 1:27-28).

Meaning/Purpose- It is said that mankind’s purpose of existence is to glorify the creator of the heavens and the earth; (God). This in turn can be done in several ways; for example it can be done through worship (Psalm 95), through obedience (Philippines 2:12-13), as well as through prayer and thanksgiving. This is all to establish a loving and personal relationship with God.

Morality- In the Christian worldview it is said that the person of God is where morality comes from. In order for morality to be established mankind was given laws from God to establish the basic blueprint for morality (Exodus 20). It was God who determined morality and not determined by mankind. It is stated that man is in need of salvation through the righteous judgment of God (Romans 3:23).
