Some of the specific skills you will need to have in the Criminal Justice field would be to have strong social skills, complex problem-solving skills, or judgement-decision making skills. Strong social skills is a needed skill in the criminal justice profession because you have to be able to distinguish between someone's tone or voice. Are they happy? Are they scared? Are they ruthless? Having strong social skills will give you the knowledge in knowing and understanding the person who is telling you a story and having a strong clarification or point of view with where they are coming from. Having a good judgement-decision skill will help you easily determine the prognosis of a situation. It will be clear to you about the next steps to take and which ones to avoid. Having good complex-problem solving skills will help you balance out your strengths in a situation and your weaknesses. It'll give you a clearer understanding of what you are dealing with and the approach you need and should take. It gives you options to try and evaluate different situations and determine which one would be best. The job that I'm interested in is a crime scene investigator. I'm interested in this job because ever since I can remember I would try and solve murder crimes that I would watch with my grandad on CNN. It intrigued me so much and I just never understood why was I so interested. Even to this day I watch The investigation discovery channel every day because that's all I'm focused on. You would be surprised of the little tricks and tips that they teach you during some of the shows. I'm not talking about the faceted cop shows, but real cases , with real crimes, and real people. The skills that I selected are relatable to my goals because each and every one of those skills personally to me Is a must.
