City of Lemon’s Police Department Natural Disaster Plans

Abstract
Plans for police departments vary from ones to deal with natural disasters to ones that deal with basic law-enforcement breaches. The three plans that most departments use to include the city of Lemon Police Department are the reactive plans which is used as a responsive to a crisis or a decision that was forced from outside influences. Contingency plans deal with policies and procedures. This type of plan was implemented somewhat when Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast on August 29, 2005.
The third type of plan is the strategic plans; this plan provides photographic based information on the way the department wants organization and also has a planned route to of how to get to that organization. All departments need these three types of plans in their arsenal to serve and protect the citizens of their communities. The lemon police department will implement tis three plans to deal with a Category Five Hurricane that is targeted to hit the city of lemon.
The city of Lemon, North Carolina is preparing for Hurricane Sprite to hit the coast. The storm has a suspected landfall between lemon beach and shoe city on Friday between midnight and three in the morning on Friday July 11, 2014. The effects will be catastrophic as this storm has reached Category five storm on the saffir-Simpson Hurricane scale (eSchooltoday, 2010). Winds will reach in excess of one-hundred and fifty-five miles. Many places around our coast could see winds push in excess of two-hundred and twenty-five miles per hour.
In preparedness of Hurricane Sprite the Lemon police department will implement three police plans that will be used before, during and after the storm.
