I think it’s important to make a productive and friendly relationship with colleagues. I think it’s important that members of staff have good job satisfaction, It’s important that myself and work colleagues speak to one another, it makes our jobs easier if the department is happy. For me it’s vital to get along with my colleagues, I spend so much time with them over the week. Another benefit is being a team player. Sometimes jobs require member of staff to work together at some point or another, on important tasks. It is difficult to effectively complete these tasks if the members of staff are unable to work productively together.

When I develop a good relationship with a work colleague, I also try to provide them with any support and assistance they may need. I think positive relationships can also help build trust within a team and can ensure that members of staff feel comfortable with airing their worries or issues with me.

When I’m working I always remember to project an image of professionalism. I think this will help me earn respect of other members of staff. It’s very important that you have the right manner when speaking or approaching members of staff, I’m never rude, I look smart, my standards of work is very high, and I’d like to think other member of staff think I’m very professional.

I also make it very clear if you don’t understand what I’m asking of you, please ask me again and I will explain it again, so when I’ve asked someone to do something when they say, I will do that, I’m sure they have understood. I tell members of staff the information they will need to know for the shift, whether it be for an event, parties anything that I feel they have to know. I’m also always willing to help them, or show them first what I expect because I understand the capabilities of my staff members and would never expect them to work beyond their capabilities without any assistance.
