Motel 6 is the biggest chain of company -owned and -operated budget motels in the United States. It's a chain broadens its scope while still catering to the budget-conscious, considering entering the extended-stay market. Motel 6 provides wonderful services, clean and comfortable rooms with good price, also converys a sense of warmth and caring to our customers.

Strengths:
- Large scale: Motel 6 is the biggest chain motels in USA.
- Good services:
+ The rooms are provided are always clean and comfortable, apply many kind of amenities;
+ The employees are pleasant, warm, and caring about customers.
- Good Price:
+ An average room rate is $37 per night, below than competitors';
+ Charges only $6 for all amenities per room in 24 hours a day.
- Loyal customers: 33 million annual customers, few of whom are on expense accounts.
Weaknesses:
- Losing money: lost $40 million, hurt by accusations thats is guests were easy prey for criminals and by a downturn in the hotel industry.
- Lax security:
+ Guests are easy prey for criminals;
+ Management layer doesn't know lawsuit, underestimated the problem.
- The rooms were Spartan one-type-fits-all style.
- Wrong location: Motel 6 expanded along with Interstate highway system, so that, befor the system expanded, people didn't know where is Motel 6.
- Steadfastly resisting change or innovation for almost 36 years.
- Haven't enough promotional measure.
Opportunities:
- There is a opportunities to enter the extended-stay market.
+ Traditional budget motels were losing customers to extended-stay properties.
+ The growing acceptance of the extended-stay concept could make it easier for Motel 6 to enter the market--unless the new business came at the expense of its traditional motels.
