Libertarians are all about people having control over their own lives with their own decisions. With complete respect of personal rights and living in whatever manner they so choose without causing any interference to other people lives.

With respect to personal liberties the libertarian party believes the government should not approve or disapprove the choices that people make in life freedom of speech and press. One’s Sexual orientation and practices are a choice, your personal relationship should be just that your choice.

Our military should be sufficient enough to defend ourselves against anyone who comes against us. It should not be used as the police force of the world. Programs that distribute the wealth of others should be abolished according to most libertarians.

Libertarians believe that the state government footprint should be no more than for police force and the courts systems to uphold the laws.

Why people would favor this party over the two major parties is what I believe is an attempt to bring back some of the thought of our founding fathers. With minimal imputes from government. Some people feel that the US government has grown too large. With taxes going higher and higher, the redistribution of wealth, with distributions systems like welfare and food stamps usage growing and growing. The Democratic Party says they support the social liberty the Republicans say they support the economic liberty. Libertarians for the most part support both of those liberties social and economic which in itself may be appealing these days in the turmoil our government is in.
