According to my three-day diet analysis, it seems likely that my eating habits are not the best. The recommendation I received from MyPlate Analysis was a diet of more than 1979 calories per day. I am not necessarily eating large amounts of “bad” foods, however, I am not getting all the nutrients that I need in a daily diet. Staying healthy is a hard thing to do. It takes time and motivation to meet those daily requirements. Additionally as full time student, it is hard to eat healthy due to lack of finance and time management. I have a habit of buying and eating pizzas, “Cheez-Its”, coffee, and alcohol beverages, such as, wine and beer. When I do cook, I love to prepare some form of pasta or hamburgers. It is quick and easy. The target that is shown on MyPlate Analysis of 2.5 cups of vegetables, 2 cups of fruits, and 3 cups of dairy foods is a area in the “Analysis” in which I fall short. The areas of grains, protein foods, and empty calories consumption are areas in the “Analysis” in which I feel are my strong points. In learning the aspects of the “Diet Analysis Project”, good nutrition is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. Your diet can help you maintain a healthy weight and reduce your risk of chronic diseases.

What I have learned is that the MyPlate Analysis is a helpful tool to modify my intake from the six classes of nutrients and recommended servings for each of the nutrient groups by eating more vegetables, fruits, and dairy foods. In the morning, I will add more fruits and dairy foods to my breakfast. For lunch, I will be adding vegetables, instead of, “Cheez-Its”. After reviewing my eating habits and following the MyPlate Analysis, I will work on eating the recommended servings from each of the following groups of nutrients.
