Club IT Pt 2

Club IT is a nightclub owned by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada. They are graduates with a degree in business administration. After graduating they decided to open a nightclub together. Their mission is to provide a nightclub that offers live music, a spacious dance area, and enjoyable entertainment, and refreshments. Although Lisa and Ruben have put much effort into remodeling their club’s interior, they are starting to think about the club’s information management systems and are w looking for ways to improve their IT.

One business problem I have identified at Club IT is the lack of e-commerce and online selling. E-Commerce is the process of buying, selling, transferring, or exchanging products, services, or information via computer networks, including the Internet (Rainer & Turban, 2008). The majority of Club IT’s customers frequently use online shopping, By integrating a e-commerce system IT’s merchandise sales, advance concert ticket sales will allow greater accessibility for customers and additional income streams can be created. The problem in which Club IT sells their advance tickets is over the phone or in person and does not allow it’s customers to access the tickets 24/7. By selling advance tickets to their special Friday and Saturday night concerts online will increase it’s ticket sales and also generated more revenue because now customers have access to the tickets 24/7 and Club IT will gain a competitive advantage over their competitors. By integrating e-commerce Club IT can not just sell merchandise and tickets (B2C) but can also do its purchasing of inventory online and make payments to its suppliers (B2B). The supply chain management (SCM), point of sale software should be able to integrate directly with the inventory management and ordering.
