“Entrepreneurial Leadership”

Section I - Introduction:

Starting a business requires an entrepreneurial leadership; therefore we will examine some theories of leadership and explore some resources. First, we will create a hybrid theory/philosophy which combines the common elements found in the thinking of Case, Kouzes, and Drucker as defined by the new definition of entrepreneurial leadership. Next, we will describe what type of organization a transactional, transformational, and authentic leader would thrive in the most, as well as which type of leader would thrive the least. In addition, we will look to evaluate the resources and tools available through the Small Business Administration and SCORE, and determine which single resource or tool is most useful to the greatest number of businesses. Lastly, a list of leadership best practices will be created that would apply to the greatest number of businesses (both small and large)

Section II – Hybrid Philosophy.

The teaching of Case, Drucker, and Kouzes as it relates to entrepreneurial leadership has many differences. However, the similarities are will promote a hybrid philosophy. Their teaching creates an entrepreneurial leader who has the vision to direct and exploit some form of strategic value created from the synergy of all participants within an organization. For example, Case believes people, passion, and perseverance are the keys to success. He further believes that entrepreneurship holds the key to the future of our economy and countries prosperity, if and only when entrepreneurs will just assume some risk (http://ecorner.stanford.edu, 2011). Much like Case, Drucker believes in passion with his “Fustest with the Mostest” theory.
