Managing Information Systems for My Preschool

Executive Summary

The goal of this portfolio is to provide my best recommendation on what my organization can do to become more successful at effectively using and managing information and business information systems. Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli said “As a rule, he-or she-who has the most information will have the greatest success in life”. This research contains information from various companies that are similar in size that will help make sound management decisions while developing innovative strategies. Throughout this past seven weeks I have “generated solutions to complex business problems and applied theories, concepts, tools, skills, practices, and research to implement in this organization” (Course Syllabus, 2014). According to Matthew Scholl (2009) from NIST, Computer Security Division “23% of all data breaches in one year came at the expense of business of 100 employees or less. 42% reported laptop theft, 44% reported Insider abuse, 21% reported denial-of-service attacks, 50% reported computer viruses, and 20% reported systems made into bots”. This information is to ensure that My Preschool has “evaluated the impact of legal, privacy, security, and ethical issues on the selection, use, and management of business information systems surround by this study” (Course Syllabus, 2014).

Roles and Actions

Drnevich & Croson (2013) stated, information technology matters to business because it directly affects the mechanisms, which create value and produce profit. As a Preschool this organization must understand the importance of implementing Human Resource Information Systems (HRISs), Accounting Information Systems (AISs), and Supply Chain Information Technology. According to Bussler and Davis (2001, p.17), “Human Resource Information...
