1- How much does ERP system cost?

A cost of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system depends on many factors, such as the size of the ERP software, its expectation, complexity, personnel implementations fees, time, and training invested after all. Great corporations tend to choose SAP ERP software, which is the most sophisticated and the most expensive in the market, but all depends of the need of the company, and how much money the company is able to invest.

2- Should every business buy an ERP package?

It depends of size of the organization; business should first analyze its own business strategy, organization, culture, and operation before choosing an ERP approach. In fact, some companies are able to pursue, building their own way to integrate internal and external management information, which facilitate the flow of information between all business functions within the organization. An advantage of the ERP system is to reduce cost by streamlining business processes, if the company does not well prepare to change its business processes, to be more efficient, then it will rest only a large bill to pay at the end of the month. In other words, if they would be able to communicate well without such investment, then they don’t need it.

3- Is ERP software inflexible?

According to our readings, ERP system is flexible in parts, because offer numerous configuration option that helps businesses customize the software to fit their unique needs. For example, if they operate specific routines for special application in SAP’s internal programming language, called Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP), then they are incorporated with a integrated platform, called NetWeaver, which offers further flexibility in adding both SAP and non-SAP components to a company’s IT infrastructure.
