Differences in interests, perceptions, information, and preferences cannot be avoided especially in teams that work together closely for extended periods of time (p.183). Intrapersonal conflict is the conflict humans face within themselves, it is a conflict between should and want (www.speakingtree.inc). This is targeted more towards the manager and dealing the conflicts the team/group is having. As a manger you have to ask yourself, what is the correct procedure for this particular situation? You’re literally asking yourself, what you should to improve the work ethic, the relationship, and the communication of the group/team in order to meet the deadline. Intrapersonal conflict is another conflict that was observed in the reading. Intrapersonal Conflict will occasionally happen in the work place due to natural differences in human personality, beliefs, or work ethics (www.examiner.com). Interpersonal Conflict is a disagreement between two individuals or subgroups of an organization involving significant resentment and discontent (www.psychologyandsociety.com). Intrapersonal conflict is relating to Sheila and Jeremy and their resentment towards Judy for rewriting their work, and also with the company because they feel like the task is impossible to complete and that the company is expecting too much from them.

Intragroup conflict is marked by verbal disagreements between group members that could result ultimately in the fracturing of the group into distinct and opposing parts (www.ehow.com). Judy has said openly that if the writers were more experienced at writing training, things would go faster, and Jennifer has said that she can’t do her job until Judy, Jeremy, and Sheila do theirs. These are both ideal examples of Intragroup because Jennifer has a conflict with Judy, Jeremy, and Sheila and blames them for not being able to get her work done, and she feels that it’s unfair that she’ll have to work nights and weekends.
