CASE STUDY A

1. Issues:

1. Due to the tough competition from the peers who are willing to provide the same service to the clients at much lower price there is demand from the clients to provide the service at lower rates.

2. Additional costs occur in a company which can be avoided in order to reduce the cost to the company significantly.

3. The resources which have been hired need to be utilized effectively and make sure that every rupee which is being paid to them is meaningful.

4. Graduate trainees are freshman from Colleges who can be hired and trained to do the job at lower costs.

5. What steps should be taken to reduce the costs and make sure the employees feel secure without any fear of losing their jobs

2. The company should continue operating with lean expenses, lean doesn’t imply that the resources should be cut off but that the resources should be effectively utilized.

New projects would help in bringing in more revenue to the company and the company could avoid costs like bench strength, they can rather assign them to a project and make sure the salary which they are paying is used effectively. And electricity costs like computers, lights AC during weekends could be avoided by using sensors so that they are only functional only if they are employees on the floor.

Attempts should be made to enter the markets in new geographies so that the company has its reputed name upheld.

The key here is to provide efficient service to the clients at low rates without the employee feeling neglected by overloading them with work or by cutting their jobs.

Every resource should be utilized properly and accountable.

3. Assumptions made:

1. Companies sort to cut jobs to reduce their costs.

2. Avoid having team dinners and outings

3. Stick to the present clients and don’t explore new oppurtunities.
