Internal and External Factors

“Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved” (Bryan, 2009, pp.23). Boeing has a story and a reputation for success as one of the leaders in a tremendously competitive field. Boeing is most known for manufacturing airplanes but the company’s expertise extends far beyond into security and defense. Boeing also contributes to space exploration and production for equipment. Boeing is an international company with projects that extend overseas regardless of cultural barriers, diversity, and language barriers. Internal and external factors influence the way business is conducted in every aspect of the organization. Boeing can attribute its success in globalization, technology, innovation, diversity, ethics, and delegations to the entire global enterprise. Many factors affect the four functions of management utilized by the Boeing organization; managers at the Boeing organization can use delegation to manage the four functions of management and the factors affecting these functions to benefit this company.

External and internal forces affect globalization, technology, innovation, diversity, and ethics. These factors affect the four functions of management. With globalization “companies that want to grow often need to tap international markets, where incomes are rising and demand is increasing” (Bateman & Snell, 2007, P ). Today’s large companies such as AT&T, Nestle, and General Electric are offering foreign sales that appear to match sales strictly within the United States of America. Globalization considerations also mean entertaining and instituting the idea of planning and leading functions of management. This means employing, organizing, and inspiring employees in other countries to operate the facilities within that country.
