1.  "what's heroic about me, why, on what basis?

I felt that a hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. Many times, being a hero or demonstrating selfless heroic acts doesn’t essentially mean you have to get into harm’s way or jeopardy your life for someone else. In the beginning, I never classify myself as a hero because I thought I was not on the same level as a real hero who safe people from a burning building or prevent individuals from being shot in a unsafe environment. Now, after reading week five conference, I change my mind and I feel that I demonstrate bravery and courage, which is a great trait for a hero to posses. In addition, bravery is a key quality for the reason that you do not always know what lies ahead of you and you have to be brave and courage to continue. All through my career in the U.S. Navy, I volunteer at various retirement home, work at various homeless shelter area during the holidays, and assists with various reconstruction of HUD housing project for individual in need. In addition, I donate donate to various group that helps starving children and families is much less fortunate and perhaps give them a greater chance to have a brighter future. Many times just by assisting individuals whenever they needed , or without being asked, or even volunteering at a old folks home bring a good role model by putting their needs ahead of your own is a good way to demonstrate selflessness. Just remember, heroes exist in every one of us, we just have to find-to-find the key, which unlocks the chains that hold it deep inside every one of us.
