In today’s healthcare field , health care organizations are always looking for ways to develop and expand with the use of technology, with this been said this sometimes it may be challenging for organization to accomplish this task as technology changes every day. New developments in systems can make it challenging for an organization to select a system that not only provides basic needs but that it also provides them with the opportunity to be up to date with technology and stay on top with other competitor organizations. Information systems is one of the fastest growing movements in healthcare today organizations. As any other organization healthcare organizations are becoming more and more reliable in the use of information systems, in 2009 the act of HITECH was passed persuading health care organizations to lean and utilize more of the technology that was accessible to them (services, 2011).

With those changes in healthcare we have seen more and more organizations from both sole practices to group facilities as well as hospitals turn to the use of Electronic Health care Records (EHR’s) as well as Electronic Medical Records (EMR’s) replacing the old fashion paper records to ensure a higher level of security for the patients, as well accessibility for the staff when having to chart a patients. The replacement of an old system to a new system meaning going from paper records to electronic records consist of phases to ensure that the change takes places this phases are support evaluations, planning and analysis, design, and implementations. The process that is need it to change over to a new system is from day one there need to be open lines of communications between all the people in charge of making the decision of the new system, as s well as been able to identify the strategies that will be used to ensure the success of the new system.
