ENG 101 —3 credit hours

This is a distance education course. No on-site meetings are required.
Since this is an online course, you need to be able to communicate and express yourself through e-mailing, posting, and attaching assignments. To ensure success in this online course, you must be self-motivated and self-disciplined. Always be respectful and value the opinions of others in online discussions. Also, you must be responsible for starting your assignments early enough to allow for computer glitches, which will undoubtedly take place. Unacceptable excuses include the usual: my computer crashed, I lost all my work, I thought I saved it, my dog ate my computer, I couldn’t get online, I wasn’t aware that you posted an assignment, I must have looked at the wrong week, I submitted it—didn’t you get it? and so forth. Please understand that ANY late assignment will earn a grade of zero. Additionally, you will be required to submit material each week; you will not be allowed to submit any materials before the week that an assignment is due.
Prerequisite: English 093 with a C or better OR 20 or above on English on the ACT OR 480 or above on the Verbal SAT OR 82 or above on the Compass Writing Test.
Sequencing: This course is a prerequisite for ENG 102.
