Itinerary for Rio de Janeiro

Blessed with the most stunning natural setting, Rio de Janeiro is a city that is as famous for its beauty as it is for its poverty. Stretching up into the mountains that hug glistening Guanabara Bay are the city’s vast, and often misunderstood, shantytowns known as favelas. Natives of Rio de Janeiro are known as cariocas. Cariocas are known all around Brazil as fun loving people who like the good life and taking it easy. Here is a 7-day itinerary to best take advantage of your stay in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 1– Tuesday

You arrive in Rio de Janeiro and transfer to the ibis hotel located in the Copacabana area. This hotel is 5-10 minute walk to the Copacabana beach. It is rated 4 ½ stars by all the people who have stayed there before. This hotel provides you with the breakfast but there are hotel taxes. The Copacabana area is famous for its beaches. Copacabana’s Atlantica Ave offers innumerous café’s and restaurants. You can go there and relax at the café’s and the restaurants. From there you can go and visit the astonishing beauty of the Guanabara Bay. On this day, if you are not tired you would really want to visit the Rio’s famous landmark statue of Christ the Redeemer perched atop Tijuca National Forest. It has a Botanical Garden of almost 350 acres containing over 5,000 plant species and interesting museums, such as the Indian Museum, the National Historical Museum and more. From there you can come back to your hotel and relax after a happening day. You will be offered dinner at the hotel.

Day 2–Wednesday

Have your breakfast at the hotel and get ready for an exciting day. If you did not see the statue of christ the redeemer yesterday you will have the opportunity today.
