Comp 101

Good evening professor, sorry I was unable to attend the unit three seminar, but I have

reviewed it and here is what I believe were the three main points to me.

The writing process is a three steps process to help the successful completion of any writing. First step is pre-writing, where you can do many things to prepare for your paper or any writing from creating an outline to help guide you through the writing, to making a list of ideas on a topic, taking notes on a topic, to discussing ideas on a topic with others. The second step is drafting, which is where you create a thesis statement and add supporting details and facts. The last step is revising, where you proofread, see if your essay fits you thesis, and has the support it needs. You also check the order, coherence of paper, and for grammatical errors.

Reading comprehension was next on list. To obtain good reading comprehension you should study article or reading to identify the audience and the main point. Then ask what author does to support this main idea, clarify, develop and further explain his idea. See if author provides research evidence, personal experience, definition of terms, narration, and comparison of ideas.

Last I took what to make sure I did for better writing. Main point is critical, to make sure audience understand your ideas. It is necessary to address specific audiences and add strong, relevant supporting information and details.
