Using technology and applying it in the governmental and Electronic commerce is great because it eliminated the physical contact, and increases the speed in which processes go through, however it is viable for corruption.

Technology provides the people who have technological access with the ability of manipulation and misuse of the confidential data. For example if a tech employee is fired from a company, he can steal confidential information from the company and release it without being tracked because he was the person responsible for monitoring it. Another form of corruption that is made easier by technology is unjustified whistle blowing. Website like wiki leaks have a large amount of confidential data that is sent by whistle blowers which sometimes can cause more harm than good if it was released to the public (unjustified whistle blowing). Furthermore, online transactions reveal some of your information to the other company you’re dealing with, this information could be provided to an advertising company without your consent, this would lead to inconvenience of having advertisements reaching your mail from time to time and cluttering up. Technology is not 100% accurate and it sometimes is suspect to faults, these faults are exploited by people. Everyone is entitled to have the right of privacy, but it is usually breached with the aid of technology. New technologies in monitoring allow people to have access to information that the owners think of as private information, an example of that is neighborhood CCTV cameras, their original purpose is to monitor the area for security but sometimes they are used for personal reasons such as spying on what a person is doing in his home. Omitting data is another form of technological corruption. For example if an officer hands out a speeding ticket for an individual and then it was not added by the technician to the electronic system, it will not be registered and the person may get away with it.
