Intro- The Carlson SAN approach can be implemented in today’s environment the only question is how and why. There are pros and cons of consolidating data on a SAN central data facility versus the dispersed arrangement it replaces, so the question is, is this worth considering. Managing the Carlson SAN is /might be easy or slightly complicated.

Assess how cloud computing could be used by Carlson instead of a SAN. Create a diagram using Visio or its open source alternative software to illustrate the use of cloud computing.

-The Carlson’s SAN approach can be implemented in today’s environment in the same manner as described in the case study. The main issue in maintaining databases and making sure that the flow of information among users is to support steady transfer of data, when end users are not affected with migration of information and database response is speedy. Carlson’s approach did meet this requirement. From the standpoint of a company or business, SAN approach is an efficient solution as well due to its cost-effectiveness as well as extended storage services, including backup of data and established understanding of IP networking technologies.

-The advantages of consolidating data on a SAN central data facility as compared to the dispersed arrangements are a little obvious. First, consolidated data management requires less investment in machines and servers. Second, with consolidated of data on a central data facility, Carlson frees more space due to reduction in number of servers as well as cuts its energy costs.
