Introduction:

I choose Mark Parker; the CEO of the world’s number 1 manufacturer of athletic footwear and Apparel Nike, Inc. Nike, Inc. was founded by Philip Hampson "Phil" Knight and His former track Coach Bill Bowerman. The founders actually changed the name of the company from Blue Ribbon Sports to Nike in 1978, after the Greek goddess of victory and paid a graphic design student $35 to make the now iconic Nike logo. The company went public in 1980. Now, Nike Inc., is the industry leader, holding over 65% of the market share in the USA alone.

Background about Mark Parker and his accomplishments:

Mr Mark G. Parker has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Nike, Inc. since January 2006. Mr Parker is responsible for the growth of Nike Inc.'s global business portfolio, which includes Converse, Cole Haan, Exeter Brands, Hurley International and Nike Bauer Hockey. He has been employed by Nike Inc., since 1979 with primary responsibilities in product research, design and development. Mr. Parker has 27 years of extensive Nike experience to the job across a broad range of leadership roles, from product design and development, to marketing and brand management. He has been Executive Director of Nike Inc. since January 2006
