Web Site Analysis

The web site I have chosen to analyze in this report is www.roadtrucker.com . This web site was originally designed to meet the needs of truckers (people who drive semis for a living). However, this web site was not designed very well as it can be difficult to look at, hard to navigate, and just plain confusing if you are not careful. It clearly does not meet the standards of what is considered a successful web site. So exactly what is wrong with the site? Let us take a closer look…

The first thing about this web site that makes it unattractive is the background that is completely white. This web site is dull and needs some kind of to the eye catching color scheme, starting with the background. This web site is also completely unorganized. Everything this business sells is just slapped on a blank page with no sense of order. This is not the kind of web site a person can skim through quickly to find what they are looking for.

However, there is color in this web site in the form of unattractive color schemes like dark browns and greens; multiple pages of text have been highlighted which is a major factor of why this web site looks unprofessional. All of the pictures and text look crammed together because so much is jammed together on each page. The web site looks cheaply done with no professionalism and no plan beforehand. It is also obvious that no one regularly updates this web site either because it still has content regarding the holidays even though it is months after the fact.

Redesign Recommendations

The main recommendation I would make for this particular web site is to start over and have a plan for how to make visitors buy things from this site. The objective is to create a professional website that reflects the quality of work that the business actually produces.
