1. What is the title and introduction doing (or not doing)?

The title could be more creative because it is very simple and boring. There should be some time of twist put on the title since it is an artistic essay. The introduction is somewhat interesting, it accomplishes its purpose because it is a narrative which was one of the requirements of the assignment sheet

2. What is the claim and/or purpose of this essay, how is that claim or purpose realized throughout the paper?

The purpose of this essay is to explain in detail, the art piece of Nereccio’s Annunciation from Alberti’s point of view. That purpose is realized throughout the paper because the writer constantly mentions it and draws their ideas from the perspective of Alberti.

3. How is this essay organized/structured?

Most of the essay is well organized, however, the second body paragraph is very lengthy, with comparison to the others. References to the text are organized well and are brief quotes

4. What sort of evidence is provided for claims and how is it used?

Alberti’s treatise is used as evidence and is referenced to explain the reasoning behind why Nereccio’s painting has good and bad features. The features such as colors and angles are explained by quoting the words of Alberti.

5. What sort of style (tone/attitude, diction, etc.) does the author employ?

The style is analytical and insightful. The author’s intention of the essay is to provide the reasoning and ideas of Alberti through the analysis of Nereccio’s Annunciation. The author wants his/her audience to understand their concepts and perspective and the style portrays that. It is very discussion based and written with diction that isn’t difficult to understand

6. What is the conclusion doing (or not doing)?

The conclusion could’ve been better because it was mostly a restatement of the introduction. The last few sentences are great. I especially like the quote being the last thing said....
