Boom Burger, a 300-seat “burger joint” and sports bar with 40 televisions, has opened in Rochelle Park. The centerpiece of its menu is “roadside-style” burgers – griddled 5-ounce patties made from a custom blend of brisket, chuck and short ribs from North Bergen-based celebrity butcher Pat LaFrieda. The signature “Boom Burger” is two four-ounce patties stuffed with American cheese (which explode in your mouth, hence the “boom”). Other specialty burgers include the Jersey Guido, topped with mozzarella and roasted peppers.

The owner is Peter Karounos, who previously owned nightclubs on the same spot and whose family also owns 4 West Diner in Englewood, the New York Steak House and Pub in Mahwah, Ultrabar in Teaneck and Studio 4 in Fort Lee.

With 40 big-screen hdtvs, daily drink specials, plush custom décor and more than 10 different types of burgers, you can’t go wrong. The lounge atmosphere has a New York City club feel without the loud club music, so you can still have a conversation without yelling at each other. Stairs and a railing separate the restaurant and bar, so you can have a sit-down meal or hang at the bar with your friends. Whether you want to catch the game, take someone on a date or just want to blow off steam after a long workday, ((BOOM)) Burger is the place for you. And if you’re a mallrat, Westfield Garden State Plaza is directly across the street from their Rochelle Park location.
