Health Policy Determinants Timeline

There are regulations and guidelines in place for healthcare professionals that take care of problems and issues with patients. The quality of healthcare that is being delivered is being overseen at all times. Quality of care is very important for patients in the long term. Affordable Care Act is much needed, due to the number of people who cannot afford health care there was a great need to do something about that. President Obama sign this Act on March 23, 2010 with this being in place it will allow everyone the opportunity to receive preventive care and other health care concerns that need to be addressed as well. Many events lead to the decision that something needs to be done about people not having coverage from ones who cannot afford it to the ones who is disqualified due to pre-existing conditions. This is part of the Health care reform that was put into place that over a certain period of time different things are to take place. Many people who cannot afford coverage through their job also could not gain coverage through some of the government programs, due to working and insurance is available through their jobs. With the health care reform there are programs that under paid people qualify for.

2010

Affordable Care Act Law went into effect that all employers had to offer coverage to the employees if they had 15 or more. In the past insurance companies could find reasons to not pay for services which is called rescinding coverage that is prohibited with this new law in place. Consumers also can appeal decisions that are made on claims and also request outside review. There are many assistance programs that the federal government has given grants to help with consumers locating health care coverage, filing appeals or complaints.
