Introduction
The social responsibility has become an important topic in the cross-cultural study as many companies expend their businesses into other countries. As a result of increasing in number of transnational firms, some companies' strategies and activities for their business operation have provoked considerable controversies crossing the border. Due to the negative impacts on society caused by such companies' actions, and the responsible attitude has been emphasised in the dispute resolution regarding the social issues. In ggeneral, people say that the companies should be aware of their social responsibilities by ethical and moral approaches, which can be a matter of social conscience. Unfortunately, this has been conflicted with some contrary opinions based on the theory of British philosopher and an objective of company existence.
With this background, this media report will identify how companies work in area of social responsibility through a particular case of IKEA group. Moreover, this research will also discuss about British philosopher's theory as it mentioned above and the customer's expectations of corporate in social responsibility, then it will also provide some recommendations based on problems that IKEA suffers.
