Subject:  Proposal to add a new, essential service to the Windsor Public Library's schedule

St. Clair College Accounting Club would like to offer you an opportunity to expand the services that the Windsor Public Library can offer to the general public.  We would like to offer free tax preparation services to low-income citizens of our community.  This, in turn, would help to increase foot traffic at some of the libraries and increase the goodwill towards the Windsor Public Library.  You will also be providing the members of the Accounting Club with valuable experience in tax preparation, community involvement and social interaction.  This opportunity is available free of charge.

In the following proposal, the layout will outline the reasoning behind the creation of this opportunity, the method to complete and the result of why this proposal should be accepted.

Background

With the advent of computers and electronic books, foot traffic has fallen at libraries.  Coming up with new ways to attract people to visit a library can be difficult considering the funding new projects require. While the Windsor Public Library (WPL) has changed with the times by offering new and creative services, there can always be something else to add.

Income tax preparation can be time consuming and very confusing.  When there is a monetary cost to have someone perform the preparation for you, it takes all of the confusion away and gives back the time that would have been spent preparing the tedious forms.  By taking the cost factor out, the tax preparation is completed quickly, effectively and cost-efficiently.  A search on the internet produced only one available option for this service in Windsor. ...
