Solar Power and Wind Power

Solar Power

The sun creates its energy through a nuclear fusion process. The process creates huge amount of electromagnetic radiation that only small fraction of that reaches the earth. That small portion of electromagnetic radiation is the direct and indirect of almost every type of energy used today. Solar power has been used for everything from calculators to large power plants that can power large cities.

The Majority of the world's energy can be supplied directly or indirectly by solar power. Solar energy captures as heat to generate electricity. Solar energy does not produce any emissions, and does not pollute the environment. There are different methods of converting and storing solar energy to electricity or just storing as heat.

The solar power has many advantages that can benefits humanity through economical, environmental concerns. We should concentrate on utilizing energy by solar cells and wind turbines, rather than depend on oil, which will run out shortly or nuclear power of which we cannot control the waste products. Solar energy has the following advantages over energy derived from fossil fuels or nuclear power:

Solar energy is a renewable form of energy, unlike fossil fuels like coal or oil. Solar energy is non-polluting. Solar energy does not emit greenhouse gasses (like CO2, Methane, etc.) or carcinogens into the atmosphere unlike fossil fuels, and therefore does not contribute to global warming. It also does not produce uncontrollable waste products like nuclear fuels. Using solar energy is a silent process. Therefore, it does not lead to noise pollution.

Solar energy is cost effective. The only costs for solar power are purchasing manufactured components and installation. After the initial investment there is no further cost associated with its use. Although solar photovoltaic are still expensive, but because of rapid growing technology and production, the costs are coming down instead solar cells are...
