BIMS Analysis

Ballard Integrated Managed Services, Inc. (BIMS) has had a recent problem with higher employee turnover and sick time. In response BIMS has created an in house survey to collect data from the employees as to the nature of the problem. Management is concerned that morale in the company is down. Turnover rates have been above average for some time and current employees have been using sick time on a more frequent basis. Exit interviews have revealed little to nothing as to a cause so efforts within BIMS to find a solution have begun. Human resources have been asked to assist the company and have created an employee survey.

The survey was designed with a focus on employee feelings for the company. It consists of ten questions that ask about work enjoyment, work schedule, pay, as well as training and companywide communication. The survey also asks a few demographic questions so that responses can be divided up by department and analysis can be run to see if problems exist within specific teams. It also asks gender to see if there is an imbalance between men and women within the company. This survey is short enough yet comprehensive enough to give management an understanding of the issue(s) within BIMS.

The data that will be collected on a survey which will be qualitative since it does not have any measurable intervals. This survey will then be added to each into the bi-weekly check of each employee. This insures that each employee is given the survey, and has the opportunity to respond to it. After a couple of pay periods, a reminder will be added into the next pay check to let those that have forgotten a chance to respond. Debbie will be the creator, and distributor of the survey. She will also be in charge of collecting the data, and putting it onto spread sheets in a numerical form so we can try and chart it. Out of 452 employees, 449 were...
