Introduction:

Thesis: My main agenda in this paper is to show that as much as we all have the freedom of speech, especially the mass media. There are limitations to it, and we all have to be considerate in practicing this freedom. I would also wish to detail that the government infringes on this freedom, always putting blockades and in many instances it's to serve their purpose.

I. Mass media are the primary source of information for the general public

A. They determine what they share and not share to the public.

II. Mass media play an important role in the country democratic function

A. They try to put the government in check.

B. The government always comes out the victor.

III. Media with the spin to the freedom of speech

A. They misuse this freedom at times

B. The constitution tries to curb what they do with it. 

Mass Media and the Freedom of Speech

Mass media are the communication systems that use radio, cable or internet techniques to reach out to billions of souls each and every day. Broadcasting technology includes the use of radio and television signals. Mass media also involve print media such as magazines and newspapers that are used to inform the public.

Freedom of speech of the media or press simply means the media’s freedom from the government (Robertson and Nicol). The press and mass media should be most heedful about what they record and publish about the government. The media should be careful with its criticisms about the government officials and policies. The media are mostly limited to what it can send to the public hence the government controls information that gets the public.
