Research Methods and Procedures

This Chapter presents the research method and design, setting of the study data procedure, subjects of the study, and the statistical treatment of the data.

Research Design

The researchers made use of the descriptive method utilizing the questionnaire checklist to gather data.

According to John Best, descriptive method of research is concerned with “what is” or “how is” or what exists in the study. 20

This method is appropriate because this looked into the determination of Attrition Affecting the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration Program at University of Rizal System- Tanay Main, Campus

Setting of the Study

The study was conducted in the Institute of College in Agribusiness Management, at University of Rizal System Tanay which was established June 2013. This Institute offers courses such as Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Financial Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Developmental Management and Diploma in Computer Secretarial leading to Bachelor of Science in Office Administration major in Office Management.

Subjects of the Study

The main purpose of the study was to determine the Attrition Affecting the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration Program in University of Rizal System- Tanay Main, Campus school year 2010-2011 to school year 2012-2013. The respondents of the study were enrolled Diploma in Computer Secretarial students who were able to finish the course but not continuing into Bachelor of Science in Office Administration

Data Gathering Procedure and Instrumentation

While conducting this study, the researchers followed the following procedure:

The researchers submitted the proposed title of the study to their Undergraduate thesis Instructor of College of Agribusiness Management for the approval and assignment of Thesis adviser.
