METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN
The study is descriptive and qualitative in design. A qualitative research approach is one in which the inquirer often makes knowledge claims based primarily on constructivist perspectives (i.e., the multiple meanings of individual experiences meanings socially and historically constructed, with an intent of developing a theory or pattern) or advocacy/participatory perspectives (i.e., political, issue-oriented, collaborative, or change oriented) or both (Creswell, 4th Edition). It is descriptive because it “focuses on collecting, summarizing, presenting and analyzing a set of data (Berenson, Levine, Krehbiel). As far as our study is concerned, it answers who and what factors affect work performance. It also answers when, where and how can it be shown. It is qualitative in nature because the study is not looking for information which is measurable by numbers but rather, it is looking for explanations or descriptions concerning the study.
RESEARCH LOCALE
The study will cover the employees working at McDonald’s Matina Branch in Davao City, Philippines. McDonald’s is one of the most popular fast-food chains worldwide. There are currently 410 McDonald’s franchises nationwide and 9 of them are situated in Davao City.
RESEARCH RESPONDENTS
The respondents for this study will include the employees of McDonald’s Matina Branch, Davao City, with the ages 18-60 years old. To be able to compute for the percentages, we will be having a maximum of 50 employees as respondents.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
The study will be conducted through questionnaires prepared by the researchers. The employees will answer the given questionnaire indicated in table 1 considering their socio-demographic profiles.
