Domino Integers: A Life Shifting Game

I was a 2nd year high school student back when I was introduced to the game Domino Integers. My math teacher, Mrs. Raña encouraged me to join the Domino Integers and represent our section. At first, I was afraid to join because I really don’t have any idea of that game. The title itself says that it is arduous. But Mrs. Raña cheered me up. Despite the fact that I’ve never heard of this game before, I still joined.

I was instructed to go to the lobby of IV- Amethyst and so I did. There, I saw the 4th year students arranging the dominoes. I just waited there until a deep pleasant voice was heard round the lobby. It was Sir Danny Asio, the inventor and developer of the game domino integers. Before the elimination had started, of course, he had to orient us about this game. After he explained what he had to, we did some trial games. It gained interest from me after I was enlightened by Sir Danny in his explanation. At first, it was puzzling but when you get to know and learn about it better, you’ll like it.

It was just like the game domino that you connect the ends of it to the previous dominoes on the board. The difference is that each domino or tile is labeled from negative eight to positive nine with a corresponding operation; multiplication, division, addition or subtraction. The tricky part is that you have to solve for each equation that you create when attaching the new tile to the old tile. Comparing it to chess, it is quite more complex and challenging. Although many find it confusing, for me, it is very remarkable.

I never expected that I would win the Domino Integers game. After I won the championship game, I went back to our classroom. I was on my way to our classroom when I bumped into Mrs. Raña. She was delighted after I told her that I got the 1st place. As for my part, it felt...
