Hello everyone, I’m the concluding speaker of the affirmative side. Now I will make a conclusion of our opinion. The reason why globalization brings more harm than benefits to developing countries is “the bigger things eat the smaller things”. It shows in three aspects: economy, environment and culture. In economic terms, you argued that the globalization improves the economic situation of developing countries. The employment rate rises and the production technology enhances. I don’t deny with that but what I want to say is, first, globalization makes the developed countries pour their goods into the developing countries. The goods produced by developing countries can’t be sold. This situation is beneficial to developed countries to develop their own economy. Second, globalization encourages the developed countries to employ the cheap labor in developing countries. This makes the disparity between rich and poor become bigger and bigger. Third, the developing countries are pushed to a weak position because of the globalization. On the environment, your opposite opinion is that globalization can improve the life quality of people in developing countries. They developed countries open factories in developing countries which make the high technology products spread in developing countries quickly. However, the pollution spreads in developing countries as well as those products. From a long-term perspective, environment pollution is more serious. So there is more harm than good in environment. In cultural field, our side partly agree with your view about the globalization can contribute to the communication of different cultures. But the bad effects to developing countries are more serious. On one hand, local culture in developing countries is threatened and the will become endangered gradually.
