A Good Man Is Hard to Find: Research Paper Progress Report

I have read A Good Man Is Hard to Find by Flannery O’Connor. In this story, The grandmother is upset about the trip her family is getting ready to take to Florida. She would much rather be headed to Tennessee to see some people she knew. She complains that there is a murderer loose in the Florida area, to no avail to bailey. The grandmother continues to try and find a reason to talk the family out of going to Florida.

After beginning their trip, the rest of the family wants to speed through Georgia. John exclaims that he thinks Tennessee is a dumping ground, having no desire to go where grandmother wants to go. After the children get restless the grandmother offers to tell them stories for some entertainment.

They decide to stop at a barbecue restaurant on the way through Georgia. The grandmother decides to ask the server about the murderer, the misfit. After leaving the restaurant, they stop on a dirt road by the grandmother’s request to search for a secret panel in a house. On their way they get in an accident.

A man comes to them after the car has flipped twice. The man begins to give them orders and they soon see his gun. The grandmother quickly points out that this is the misfit. The grandmother insists she believes he’s a good man.

The misfit and the grandmother begin to discuss Jesus after he sends the kids to the woods. After hearing gunshots in the woods the grandmother cries out, then he shoots her 3 times in the chest.
