NETW410 Week 1 Lab: Introduction to Visio

In this lab, you will use the Visio software package to create network diagrams.

Step 1:

Start Visio and discover your options for creating a network diagram. Questions 1 – 4 ask you to assess your experience with Visio, along with the version and methods you are using to complete the lab.

Step 2:

Exploring various examples of network diagrams, both good and bad, will help you to create better network diagrams. They help you discern what should or should not be included in your diagrams.

Question 5 (6 points: 3 points for each screenshot and comment)

Paste a screen shot of the diagram in your lab report and explain why you think it is good. (3 points) You must include a detailed explanation to get credit for this portion of the question.

2. Find another diagram from this site, or any other site, that you feel can be improved. Paste a screen shot in your lab report and explain what you think can be improved about the diagram. (3 points) You must include a detailed explanation to get credit for this portion of the question.

You can use the site mentioned above or any other site that you like. If you use another website, cite where it is from. Screen shots without citations will not be graded.
