My name is Esperanzia Williams and I’m from Richmond, Virginia. Everyone calls me ESP for short. My name is Spanish, and in English it means Hope. I am a 46-yr-old disabled, divorce mom of 2 adult children ages 21 and 26. Both are in college, my daughter is 21-yrs-old, and a senior studying Criminal Justice/Paralegal Studies, who will be graduating in May and seeking to become a District Attorney. My son is 26-yrs-old, and a junior also studying sports therapy. I am a senior here at Argosy University studying Criminal Justice/Forensic Psychology, I have received my Associates Degree last May and now I’m working towards my Bachelors Degree that hopefully I will be getting next year. I am in and out of the hospitals monthly for treatments, and along with being in a wheelchair majority of the time. I will do everything that I can in my power to keep up with my lesson, I really enjoy school and I am so committed and dedicated to it.

I decided to return back to school to prove to myself that I still have what it take to learn. Sitting at home majority of the time confined to bed, I thought that I would lose my mind unless I found something to do. I have had over 30+ surgeries and I'm in need of 9-10 more. I have a pacemaker inserting into my stomach in order for me to eat food. I have Type 2- Diabetes, along with high blood pressure asthma, PTSD, severe chronic pain, neuropathy and now have been diagnosed with vertigo and it is for no joke, especially when you can't hold your head up, your eyes going from side to side, head spinning. Without school I would be lost, but being here at Argosy everyone has been so good to me by helping when I go into the hospitals or when my illnesses flare-up to where I might get behind in my assignments. I am a heavy sports fanatic and into all sports. I had my pacemaker re-down in 2013 since it had stopped working. I will have to have surgeries every 5 years to replace my pacemakers, so I will be in for a long haul. But everyone that...
