Examining Government Regulations

How do you deal with government regulations that are supposed to help society? Do the policies being proposed are made now help or hurt our future citizens? Anytime a new policy is created the impact needs to be assessed. This assessment should give us some insight as to what could happen if all scenarios are met. Many times we have heard or seen whereas policy that was meant to do good things in a community well has caused more harm because the proper assessment was not done or followed. As a citizen we must demand from our political leaders precise thought out legislation that makes for real meaningful change and not just a bunch of fluff that is catering to a big donor agenda or the politically correct popular stance to get re-elected. The welfare of the people are in the hands of some that only care about their financial outlook or some that become an overbearing nightmare lobbyist that people have stop listening too.

What are some trends that are taking our society on a different course than it should be socially? The trend of making drugs legal? The trend of ignoring our homeless? The trend of not caring for others only ourselves when it comes to our community. The comedian George Carl had a joke “where everyone wanted something just not in my back yard” he would say (George Carl comedian). This is how substance abuse and mental health is viewed in the local town governments, state governments, and our country. Yes alcohol is a form of a legalized drug and there are many who suffer from the addiction so why would we as a society vote to make more addictive drugs legal. People try to get that same first time high by doing more. They tend to be living on the outskirts of society, this leads to more drug abuse and for some mental health issues.
