Jim Nancy
Healthy Not-So-Healthy Heathy Not-So-Healthy
He smokes HR is normal BP is a little high
He’s overweight HDL level is normal Cholesterol is high
Has suffered a heart attack LDL levels are high
Triglycerides and glucose levels are high
2. Nancy is at risk for osteoporosis because it runs in her family. She could also be at risk for high cholesterol level and that could possibly cause diabetes. Jim is at risk for possibly getting diabetes as well because of the fact that he is overweight. It could also be possible for him to experience another heart attack.
3. Something else that could be helpful in assessing their health would be possible family history. For example, if diabetes runs in the family or if there are any other diseases that are common. This could be helpful could then we would know what to test for or what type of symptoms to look out for.
1. Angina equivalent symptoms are different from classic angina symptoms because angina equivalent symptoms include shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, or pain at a place other than the chest.
2. This can be cause because of reduced blood flow to your heart muscle. The most common cause of this is CAD (coronary artery disease).
3. The symptoms lessen when Nancy rests because her heart isn’t working as hard as when she’s exercising.
4. I did not know that males and females had different symptoms. I was only familiar with classic angina symptoms.
5. The way medical researchers find out if individuals of both sexes and from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds have similar symptoms or react the same would be by first performing on mice or other small animals. Then you would have to perform trials on healthy volunteers. There would also be many control variable involved.
