Title page: How does hot or cold weather affect your bow shooting?

Introduction: This experiment will be to help any bow hunter who might live in extreme or varying conditions. This should put away any thoughts of how the climate will affect your performance. I will be taking all variables into consideration such as pressure. My hypothesis is that the temperature will not affect my shot. I should be able to prove my hypothesis to be correct.

Research: The bow we will be using is a PSE Stinger. Specifications are max limb Balt:10,ATE/IBO speed 314-306fps,axle to axle 33” draw length 25½ to 30½, Brace height 7-3/4” let off 75% and mass weight 4.70. We will be shooting Red head Carbon fury 6075’s. Specifications are: Straightness +/- 0.005, weight 10.6 grams, spine deflection 0.412, matched weight +/-2 grams. We will be shooting at a 28x28x12 Hurricane 1000 P.S.I. tricore target which weighs 17.8 lbs. Heat causes high pressure which creates drag on the loosed arrow making it shoot low. The more speed on your arrow the less drag you have. The earliest bow dated over 64,000 years ago in South Africa. It was the standard recurve or long bow. Made of just a sturdy piece of wood and any material with elasticity. They have evolved from using only curved wood to metal with steel stabilizers. Even the strings have changed from being made of flax, silk and hemp, even animal guts and rawhide, now they are made of Dacron, Kevlar and steel wires. There are seven common types of bows that are still used.. They include: Recurve-A bow with the tips curving away from the archer. The curves straighten out as the bow is drawn and the return of the tip to it’s curved state after release of the arrow adds extra velocity to the arrow. Reflex-A bow that curves completely away from the archer when unstrung. The curves are opposite to the direction in which the bow flexes while drawn. Longbow-A self bow that is usually quite long, often 5 feet long. English Longbow- made of all...
