I write this letter to propose a few information systems that would be ideal for starting and maintaining a small business. Some may lack experience in information systems, and how to run a record store this will create a solution that will be beneficial to the business as well as the owners. Information systems are used to support operations, as well as management. For this reason I have done some research on information systems that are available like, office information system or OIS, Transaction Processing Systems (TPS), Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, and Expert Systems.

Information Systems | Definition | Example |

Office Information Systems | Uses hardware software and networks to help work flow and ease communication among employees | A manager can post the schedule for the employees on the internet, and email the employees when it is updated. |

Transaction Processing Systems | Records and processes data based on transactions that occur on a day to day basis | When a deposit is to be made or someone orders a few records this system will keep record of these transactions |

Management Information Systems | Generates accurate , timely and organized information so managers and other users can make decisions, solve issues, supervise activities, and track progress | This system can records the sales, update the customer balance, as well as update the inventory based on that sale. |
